How KidsHelpingKids Got Started

Gavin lived in India the 1st 5 years of his life. Each day he passed by kids that lived in cardboard boxes. He was also approached daily by the children begging for food. Every so often he would say to his dad, "Papa, we have to do something to help these kids! We need to do an orphanage." Kevin, Gavin's dad began sharing the vision to staff of starting an orphanage. Year after year, everyone was too busy to add this to their plate.

Finally, a homeschool mom began to have it on her heart to begin an orphanage. At the same time, another team member started another orphanage in another part of India.

Gavin, at that time, was living in America. While visiting India with his dad in 2005, he decided to have a birthday party when he returned to help raise money for the new orphanages that he had been praying for years before. That's when KidsHelpingKids.cc was born. He raised $400.00 at his 8 year old birthday party. He since raised $1000.00 in his children's church paying for a much needed eye surgery for one of the orphans.

He is now helping his mom with raising money for the girls' education for the upcoming year.

Also, Yancy, a christian music artist has taken KidsHelpingKids.cc as her charity and has been a huge blessing to the orphanages as well.
